If you are looking for the most beautiful crown for your tooth, there can be hardly any other crowns as suitable as ceramic or porcelain crowns. Pure porcelain helps in achieving the translucent look similar to a real tooth. Porcelain crowns can look like natural ones if the whole procedure of preparing the crown and implanting them is done by experts. If you get full porcelain crowns from the right dental clinic, your tooth or teeth will look so natural that it keeps everyone guessing.

Advantages of Getting Full Porcelain Crown

There are many advantages of getting a full porcelain crown for your tooth or teeth. Here are some of those:

  • The porcelain crown is translucent in appearance and mimics the translucency similar to natural teeth. This helps in enhancing the aesthetic appeal of your smile.
  • If you have heard of people getting allergic reactions after crown implant, don’t be afraid. This is because porcelain causes no allergic reactions at all. You can get them without fearing about the allergic reactions, even if you are allergic.
  • Porcelain is highly bio-compatible and also helps in reducing sensitivity.
  • It is easier to achieve better alignment with porcelain crown along with form correction.
  • In case you have reduced space inside your mouth and you want a natural look, a porcelain tooth is the most suitable option.

These are some of the advantages of getting a full porcelain crown. But if you want to enjoy the full benefits, you will have to choose the right dental clinic.

The Steps involved in the Procedure

The procedure of fitting porcelain crowns is similar to that of any other type of dental crown.

Step 1

In this step, the tooth that requires treatment is cleaned and then reshaped. This step basically involves preparing the tooth for treatment. The tooth is tapered a little in order to allow a better fit. When the top is tapered, the porcelain crown snugly fits on the natural tooth.

 Step 2

After the tooth has been cleaned and reshaped, the impression of the tooth is taken with dental putty.  The mould with the impression is sent to the dental laboratory. Here, the new crown is fabricated according to the impression. It takes about two to three weeks for the crown to be ready.

Step 3

The last step involves fitting. The dentist fits the porcelain crown over the real tooth in a simple process that takes place in the clinic. Etching acid is used to rough up the surface of the tooth. The crown is fixed firmly with the help of dental cement after the desired fit is achieved. It is advised to avoid biting and grinding hard foods. Your dentist will also tell you ways you can take care of your new porcelain crown so that it lasts long.

Crowns are used to restore the beauty and structure of your tooth. This is a boon to those who have lost their tooth or teeth due to decay, breakage, etc.  You can consider dental tourism to get this procedure done by an expert at a reasonable price.
